The last day is dawning, tonight the plane takes off back to Germany!
At 7 o’clock Harry and I wake up to have breakfast in peace. Then it goes one last time in and at the pool to enjoy the beautiful summer weather.
From 11- 12 o’clock all things are gathered and stuffed into the suitcases, although only some new t-shirts have been added, it feels like more luggage than on the way there.
At 12 o’clock we have to check out of the room, at the reception we hand in the key and our luggage.
With our cab driver we have agreed today only 14:30 the pick-up appointment, until then we stay at the pool and enjoy the sun.
Bruce is over punctual and drives the short distance to the airport. The luggage is checked in after 50 minutes, also the hand luggage control works very fast and without problems. In the Dutty Free area I take as a souvenir a liter of “Appleton Rum 12 years”, Harry has yesterday already bought 1 liter of our favorite rum “Overprove”.
Breakfast has been a while, so we have two patties before the flight takes off.
I discover shortly before boarding a Hard Rock Cafe store, actually Mobay has none according to the website. After a conversation it turns out that the store is not open 5 days! Harry and I buy T-shirts and a limited pin.
16:50 boarding begins on time, we are lucky with the seat assignment, I sit at the window and Harry next to me. In the aisle are many small children, some without parents.
17:30 the plane takes off on schedule, I watch the offered movie “RIO 2”. The food is not delicious this time.
The wind is relatively strong and so the captain reports that the plane arrives an hour early in Frankfurt, at 8:45 German time the plane lands in Frankfurt. An hour later the suitcases are picked up, Harry has changed clothes and we sit at the bakery and eat breakfast.
I have already bought the train ticket before the vacation, departure is 12:40 and so we still have plenty of time.
At REWE I buy water and cookies, the card payment is such a change, that the cashier thinks I’m from abroad and shows me how the EC card machine works:-D
Since it is so cold and we still have plenty of time, we go to the ALEX for a coffee.
The train arrives on time and has much more legroom compared to the plane, we doze a bit. At 16:30 the train reaches Hamburg, fortunately Basti & Berit pick us up from the Hamburg main station, because the way back is quite exhausting. We have been awake for over 24 hours and in Germany it is 2 degrees, almost 30 degrees less than the last weeks.
It was an unforgettable 33 days that Harry and I can look back on, we saw a lot of the country and the flora and fauna in Jamaica, the extremely helpful, friendly, tolerant locals, experienced adventures- especially with the prone rental car and were also able to gain experience with our first cruise ship. I hope we will be tugging from this wonderful vacation for a long time, but am actually already planning to travel to more countries.
Thanks to all the fellow readers, we really appreciated every comment!
